Product Rave.... :))

I just wanted to do a quick blog post on these two products. I meant to include them in my last product rave post but i couldnt find them at the time.. I do tend to move things around the house alot rather than keeping it in the one place.. lol. Apologies for the poor quality in this picture by the way, my camera is a bit rubbish but i'l be getting a new one next month :))

So... Here we have V05 volumising spritz & Loreal Elvive colour protect serum

I use V05 volumising spray over damp hair, i just spray it all over the roots an blowdry. I like to blowdry my hair upside to dry the roots an add volume an then i style it as normal This really does boost volume, its soooo good!

Loreal Elvive serum is another product i add to damp hair. Its to protect colour but i dont use it for this purpose. My mum uses this all the time so i used some a few months back for the first time and couldnt belive how soft my hair was after styling. It felt like silk!! Needless to say i bought my own bottle and now i always use this after washing it without fail!! Its a serum slightly oily product but don't let that put you off..you only need a small amount, it goes a long way! I apply only to the ends of my hair and blowdry as normal. Two fab products i just love..!!

No

MAKE-UP:

-What foundation do you use?

Revlon Colorstay in 220 Natural beige which is slightly dark for me, need to go lighter.
Sometime i use Rimmel lasting finish 16hr in 100 Ivory. I also like to wear Estee lauder Double wear, but i've run out at the moment.

-How about concealer?

If its for blemishes i use Laura Mercier Secret Camourflage in sc3. For under the eye i use maybelline mineral cream concealer.

I should know this but its hard to tell cos i'm so fair. I think its more of a pink undertone

-What do you think of fake eyelashes?

Love them...!!! I love big dolly lashes anyway but esp for a night out..

-Did you know that you are supposed to change your mascara every 3 months?

-What brand of mascara do you use?

Rimmel- Max flash mascara (in the pink tube)

-Sephora or MAC?

Well i have to go with Mac as in ireland we dont have Sephora. But last year in new york i went into a sephora..an was blown away by the amount of stuff in there..! its one amazing shop! Wish we had it here :(

No i dont. I just find a little foundation/powder over the lids work just as well as a base than any primer.

-What is your favorite eyeshadow (color or shade)?

Mac- in satin taupe. Mac- in Bitter.. its a vibrant lime colour but it looks so pretty on!

I have done. i'm a trained beauty therapist an make up artist.

Well the foundation line is prob the most obvious one. It also annoys me when some girls wear foundation an nothing else an i mean nothing.. They look so monotone an washed out, its so odd. Where's your blush mascara at least?

-Do you like colorful shades of makeup (lipstick, eyeshadow) or neutral ones?

Yes i really do. Of course i like neutrals as well, an they are most wearable but i'm not afraid to wear brighter colours either.

-Which celebrity always has great make up?

Cheryl cole,  kim kardashion, lauren conrad keeps it simple but always looks flawless. Rachel bilson works the natural look beautifully. Katy perry's make up is gorgeous too, she has been ridiculed sometimes for wearing too much makeup, but she oozes old hollywood 40's, 50's glamour, an those icons like marilyn monroe were known to have inches of make up on. That doesnt make them any less beautiful, all the old starlets did it but that was simply that time.

eye liner (pencil) i look so tired without it

Tag- What's in my handbag...?

I've been using this handbag non stop for the past two months. I do like to change my bag every couple of weeks normally but at the moment i'm going through a 'i have no decent bags' phase. An i did give a few old ones away to charity recently so i think i should buy myself a couple of sexy bags while i'm in london next month. :) This bag is from River Island, i think i bought it last January. It cost around €30. Its grey leather (not real leather) with plaited handles, fringes on the front and two side pockets.  So here is the contents of my bag..Last week i did do a little clear out so there's a 'little' less than normal in there, cos i usual carry everything but the kitchen sink.. :))

-So I have my makeup bag to the left..
-My red quilted purse
-Hairbrush to add volume
-Notepad
-Jo Malone Honeysuckle & Jasmine purfume
-Body shop Body Butter
- Sure deoderant
-Flower hair clip
- Random receipts
- Nurofen
-Topshop purple purse for change
-Rimmel lasting finish foundation
-White plastic watch from next
-Optrex eyespray
-Eyedrops for red irritated eyes..cos i had quite bloodshot eyes recently
-Loose change at the bottom of my bag
-Chap-ice Lip balm
-Barry M nail varnish in mint green
-Couple of spare batteries for my camera which i always carry
-Gold heart long necklace from primark just in case :)
-Flower stud earrings from topshop
-Pearl white drops for veneer looking teeth, dont know it i like it yet
-calculater
-Classic Ipod

My cute cherry makeup bag from primark

- Revlon Blush in Tawney peach
-Benefit Brow set in light
-Revlon colorstay for oily/combination skin in 220 Natural beige
-Benefit High beam
-Mac Matte Bronzer
-Jane Iredale powder brush
-Primark Kabuki brush
No 7 Concealer brush

-Rimmel Max flash mascara
-Rimmel Kohl pencil in jet black
-Jemma kidd eye brightner pencil in white
-Nail file
-Eylure Eyelash curler
-Jemma kidd tweezers
-Mac Satin Taupe eyeshadow
-Revlon sunset/sunrise eyeshadow quad
-Rimmel Black matte eyeshadow
-Mac Eyeshadow in Bitter
-Rimmel Moisture lipstick in Vintage pink
-Mac Hue lipstick

Now i realise this might seem a bit excessive when i'm just going about my daily business but i always think
' What if.. in case..?' lol. Does anyone else carry far too much makeup on a daily basis than is needed? I know some girls that only carry lipgloss and a mascara or something..i wish i could be like that, But i can't..Therefore my bags often weigh a ton.. :)) but i probably wouldn't have it any other way.

Products rave...

These are just some things i have been loving this past month or so.

-Elnett Very Volume Hairspray in extra strength: I Love hairspray.. I love big hair. So i must always have a can or 2 or 3 :) in the house. I have tried a good few different brands before especially in the past few months, i thought that i should see what else in on the market an if they're any good, but i always come back to elnett. An this volume one is my fave!! Its strong an holds my hair in style alot longer than any others i've tried. Its light so i can brush or style it out afterwards or the next day without having to wash it too often to get the hairspray out. I hate that hard wirey feel to the hair alot of hairsprays can leave behind, this doesnt do that to my hair. I backcomb a fair bit, an this is the only one that holds it place for through the night! I always carry a small tin in my bag too for emergencies! :)

-Primark Blending brush: I bought this about a month, i just saw it for like €1.50 or something and thought i'd try it. At least if it was rubbish i wouldnt have wasted money for that price. But to my surprise..i really like it!! It has two sides to it, one is slanted an the other is a usual biggish brush for blending. Its sooooo soft and it has shed on hair yet! Its great for blending, does the job. An cost practically nothing.. Bonus!! x

-Johnsons 3 in 1 facial cleansing wipes for dry an sensitive skin: Wipes arent the best thing to cleanse with, but to remove excess makeup before washing my face or even after a night out when all you wanna do is fall into bed these are dead handy to use. I have always had oily spot sprone skin, but a few months ago i finally saw a dermatologist and he put me on Roaccutane which is a strong medication for acne, its the only thing nearest to a cure there is! Its working like a dream, But it has dryed out my skin quite a bit and its got very sensitive so i had to abandon alot of trusty cleansers i previously used as they really stung my skin too much! Even simple wipes that are meant to be for sensitive skin an contain 'no alcohol' didnt work, my skin would sting too much i just couldnt use them. These johnson ones are great thou, they don't sting in the slightest an they remove all my makeup an cleanse more than i thought they would. Love them!

-Lee Stafford Beach babe sea salt spray: I'm aware i could probably make this myself for free..! But i came across this in boots a while ago an thought i'd try it. I have naturally curly hair not tight curls or anything just big curls/waves so sometimes if i dont want to do a whole lot to my hair i spritz it with this an give it a little scrunch, shake it up a bit an wollaaa.. I look like i spent the day at the beach..! Love that sufer type hair! lol Really pleased with this product :)) x

Haul - Hair accessories

Even though i can't buy much at the moment :( as i'm saving for london :)) I wanted to show you these cute hairbands i got last week. I love hair pieces sooooo much. I have an obsession with the 40's n 50's hair makeup clothes, music, you name it. So i love little hair pieces they can really add a vintage feel to any outfit. Ps: excuse the big messy hair.. no i havent just woke up :) In general i do prefer the messy undone look :))

This gold beaded hair band was from primark for €2 i think.. I love it, goes with everything.

This blue feather hairband is also from primark for €2. Really pretty, looks nicer when my hair is loosly tied back in a messy bun or around to one side..

This clip is from primark (again..lol) got 2 flower ones, an 2 denim ones in a pack for €1.50 not sure about the denim ones but love these flower ones..

My mum got me these ones from accessorize, dont know how much they cost, but i LOVE them, so pretty. so summery :)

Got this in claire's accessories for €3 i think. Love bows anyway an thought this red one was too cute..

And...finally... This is my trilby hat i bought weeks ago in primark (also known as pennys here)  I already mentioned this in my in's an out's post. I'd be on the hunt for a nice one for ages and couldnt see anything that caught my eye or looked okay on, but this one grabbed my attention, its a gorgeous navy an cream colour an unlike many others i tried really looks nice on. An best of all it cost like €5 or something, cant remember the exact price but around that mark. Delighted with it..! I'm sorry this isn't a better picture, my camera ran out of battery..x

Kerrie xx

FOTD..

FOTD

Its been so sunny and hot today here in Ireland, so i wanted a summery look. I love the combination of the turquoise blue with the lime its so pretty an ocean like.. :)) These pics are after a long day out in the sun so my foundation might look a little patchy due to the sun and i topped up suncream on my face as the day went on as i could feel myself starting to burn :( but suncream over makeup doesnt always look too great! lol x

The products i used are:

-Foundation: Revlon Colourstay for oily/combination skin in 220 Natural beige

-Mac matte Bronzer

-Mac Eyeshadow Bitter in the crease

-Earth minerals Eyeshadow in Turquoise all over the lid

Need my mojo back....... :))

Its been a week since my last blog post..! Apologies..! I've really got into this blogging lark in the past month, i really love doing it, But..this week however i have been feeling a lil under the weather..so blogging took a back seat. I did really want to do some OOTD pics and makeup looks etc, but you know yourself when your not feeling the best the last thing you wanna do is take pics of yourself an post them for everyone to see..! I can't do any new shopping hauls at the moment either because.. i wont allow myself to go near the shops right now ( i can't 'window shop'..its not natural to me lol) as i'm off to London next month for a week so i'l enjoy a big, fabulous shopping spree then....but until then as in the words of miss winehouse....i say no no no....

But there is many more ideas for blog posts so i will defin get some up tommorrow.. :)))

letters to juliet :)

I took my mum to see 'letters to Juliet' last night. We both love soppy romantic films... lol. I didnt have totally high expectations of this film to be honest, an awful lot of romantic films can be predictable an cheesy, but this was actually very good! Its set in Verona, Italy.. an my god is that a beautiful part of the world defin on my holiday wish list now! Its a lovely definatly 'soppy' story, predictable in parts but the ending doesn't disapoint. Really enjoyed it..

June: In's & Out's

In's:

- Trilby hats: I did wonder if i can pull off one of these?  I mean i know alot of people are wearing them an the celebs are always sporting them but at first i did think they looked a bit 'funny' on me but after carefully scanning the shops for a nice one, i finally got one an it looks fab!! I love hats anyway, but this one really add's an edge to my outfits.. i feel all 'festival' like in these.. even thou i'm not going to any this year but still i can look the part right? lol x

- Coke Zero: I'm a big coke cola fan an yes i knows its not good for you but there's nothing like a glass of coke with ice in the sun is there....? :) But whilst i love my beloved coke cola..the amount of calories in a can is just crazy and i'm trying to lose around a half a stone at the moment so i switched to coke zero...its not the same but its not too bad either, far nicer than diet coke!

-Blusher: I dont have the best skin in the world i am prone to breaking out so i often like to wear a foundation with more coverage but i have been weaning myself off an trying to wear less as its summer and i dont want anything too heavy looking. So in the past week i've been wearing a small bit of foundation, tiny bit of eyeshadow or navy eyeliner in the water line, mascara an lip balm which in all is a small amount of makeup for me, not that i wear a face packed with makup but i do use a lot of products. However one thing i can't live without is blusher.. If i don't wear anything else 'blusher' makes me look fresh and alive! It really lifts my skin tone. The one i wear most often is bourjois in rose brun. Can't get enough of the stuff!

-Weekend breaks: I'm no jet setter, i wish i was.. i havent been away since last september when i went to New york which was fab but its been so long, that now i'm itching to get away somewhere.. So far i know i'm going to London the end of next month for a week, cant wait.. its not a holiday as such as i know london all too well i grew up there, but i am going over to see friends whom i havent seen in ages so really looking forward to it. Do want to holiday somewhere in August too with my mum, thinking Italy? Want to go somewhere different but not too expensive..any suggestions?? x

Out's:

- Gladiator sandals: These were everywhere in 2008/9 i bought some lovely tanned ones in new look last year an wore them all through the summer, i thought i'd be able to do the same this year, but for some reason they are not looking good with my dresses this year. I know those open-toe sandals that look like ankle boots (can't remember they're actual name..) are everywhere this year an they do look sooo nice with everything you name it, dresses, shorts etc. So maybe subconciously, its because i want a pair? an the gladiator sandals just dont cut it anymore? Is that a bit shallow? I'm not the type to not wear something because it not 'in' this season, but they just dont look right with my summer gear this year, an i just dont know why..

-Chocolate: I love my chocolate as much as the next girl but i guess cos its summer i've just gone off it. I haven't totally stopped eating it, i still get cravings for it sometimes! but right now i'd rather a handful of pick n mix sweets or an ice lolly. I'm already in full summer mode in my head even though the weather here in ireland says otherwise :((

-Shopping: I don't want this to be in the out's I LOVE shopping.. But i spent alot in the past few months, and a little broke as a result so i have to stay away from the shops for while and save some money for once! With the mini breaks coming up i want lots of spending money to get some nice lil bits :) esp in london as everything is cheaper. We are fleeced over here with the euro..!

-Nautical: I do have nautical tops dresses etc, but how many times are they going to run this trend?? Surely its had its day now? for the past 4 years at least they say nautical is the 'big' trend this year..its getting a lil boring now. I did love this look but its starting to get on my nerves now.. lol :))

Hairstyle of the month: Michelle Williams

I saw this picture a couple of weeks ago..an thought woooww!! I've been a fan of michelle williams ever since the first ep of dawson's creek, she's always been blonde and has had many styles over the years but i gotta say this one has the wow factor. She has gone for a stunning whiter blonde than her usual golden shade, its quite short at the back with a long sweeping fringe. For most of us this haircut would be hard to carry off, but with her faceshape she does it effortlessly.

If i ever had the courage to cut alot of my hair off this would be the haircut i'd go for..But..as a girl whos had long hair all her life i dont think that day will ever come.. For example i was at the hairdressers in late march, my hair was very long an feeling alittle lank so instead of getting my usual 2 inches off i said to my hairdresser as she was showing me how much to take off..a little bit more...er...a lil more...erm maybe a little more.. :) When it was blowdryed only then i realised omg.....its short!! granted i wanted something new, and for goodness sake it was by no means short it just met my shoulders But in my world it was short!! tooooo short!!
So needless to say i'm currently growing it.. But note to self in the future i may brave it an go for shorter styles yes But.. I will know exactly what i want well before hand AND i will think about it properly an not get it cut on a whim whilst sitting in the hairdresser's chair thinking...mmm maybe i'l go for smthing different? :))

Sex and the City 2....

Well now........what can i say about the sequel except.....i lovvvvvvvvved it!!! I've seen it twice in the past 2 weeks.. (yes, sad i know..lol). Now i could be biased.. i mean it would have had to be absolutley awful for me not to like it..I've watched sex and the city since the very beginning. I love Carrie, charlotte, samantha, miranda....an Mr big..... I lovve Mr Big..I think everyone of us can relate to one of those characters at least. An as for the fashion........omg...heaven!! The first film had a lot more 'drama' in it, this one had a lighter feel to it, had me in stitches several times! I'm glad they did it like that, because had this sequel had just as much 'drama' in it, it would have weared thin with the audiance...and at least this way there is room for a third film..? ooooooh can't wait!! So not giving the story away but if your fan of SATC an you haven't seen it yet...its a must see..!!

Style Crush of the month: Scarlett Johansson

I'm loving this girl at the moment..I wouldnt say her daytime outfits are anything to write about..but her red carpet glamour is quite often stunning. She doesnt always get it right but when she does, she really does. She reminds me of a modern day marilyn monroe. She is obviously beautiful but she also has curves an isnt afraid to show it and in hollywood today that is so refreshing...

Gotta love Girls Aloud lashes...:))

Omg.....How nice are these lashes..???? I ...Love.... All.... false lashes, they really open up the eyes an make them more dramatic. These are the cheryl cole ones i picked up in boots today, worn them before so i know they're sooo nice on. I do prefer ones that look thicker an flair out an the sides, so these are perfect! Won't be wearing these for a couple of weeks i'd say because i'm going to have to be strict an save for the nxt few weeks so no nights out for a couple of weeks at least :(( booooooo but reason is i've big trip to london nxt month so gonna need lots of spending money :)))) Soooo..i cant wait!!

Some new lip products i wanna share with you....

From left to right

- Barry M lipgloss in Tropical tango

- Barry M Lipstick in 147 Peachy pink

-Rimmel moisture renew in 180 Vintage pink

-Barry M lipgloss in Tropical tango: I bought this last week in Boots. I knows it looks a little scary being soooo orange but being a gloss only a little bit is needed an goes along way, it doesnt look that orange on the lips if just a small amount is used. Is a really nice colour for summer, an better still it smells an tastes like oranges....! lol :)

-Barry M Lipstick in 147 Peachy pink:  I saw this lipstick in someones youtube video a while back, it been on my 'must buy' list for a while but i just couldnt find it anywhere. Finally they had in stock in boots couple of weeks ago so i had to pick it up..Its a goregous peach/pink colour.  It is showing up more pinky in these pics but i asure you it is more peach than pink. Its a satin amost matte finish which i love..I'm not a big fan of sheer lipsticks they dont give off much colour on the lips an they melt off veeerry quickly, so i aways think whats the point in them?
It doesnt feel too drying either like say the marshmallow one, but instead of swiping it over the lips i just press it on, i still get a vibrant colour it just look more natural on the lips than sweeping it on..

-Rimmel moisture renew in 180 Vintage pink: This isn't exactly 'new'...! i have repurchased this twice already, but i honestly LOVE this sooooo much. Is it possible to love a lipstick that much?? In the pics it is showing up more purple than pink, an while it does look quite purply in the tube but it is a pink, a very purply pink... :)
I get people asking what lipstick i'm wearing when i wear this, it is one out of my whole collection in know really suits me, I'm fair skinned with blue eyes dark hair so the cool tone in this is perfect for me. It is a very moisturising lipstick, an the pigmentation pay off is soooo good.. Rimmel do alot of lipsticks, i have a fair few :) but this is by far my favorite..The name 'vintage pink' attracted in the first place..anything vintage an i'm in... :)) it didnt look that great under the shops lights but it truly is a gorgeous colour esp if you are fair like me, this is a must have!! :)

Review- Lip balms/moisturisers

I have been getting very dry lips for the past few months, so over time i purchased a good few lip balms to try an find something that really works. These are just a small amount of the ones i've tried so far..
(from left to right)

-Coconut moisturising lip balm: I bought this from Penny's for like one or two euro, i wasnt expecting much from this being so cheap, but it not too bad, its quite moisturising an smells so delicious! Drys on the lips very quickly so needed to reapply fairly often. 6/10

-Vaseline: I have used this for a long time, usually aways carry one small tin in my handbag. It cost 1.99.
It feels nourishing an smells lovely and has a rosy tint but i dont think its great for chapped lips, i felt it dryed them out even more. However is still like to use this when my lips are ok for that bit of moisturisng. 5/10

-Chap.ice: I bought this in a chemist over a month ago for 2.99 an love it! i can't say enough about it. Its a very rich lip moisturiser, smells a bit like menthol. Its quite a thick formula, which i personally prefer as it lasts for ages on the lips, so rich you can really feel it working, my lips dont feel chapped an are very soft for a lot longer than other lip products i've used. 10/10

-Blistex med plus: I was recommended this by a few people, i think it cost around 4 euro. But i was so disappointed in this product. It smells awful, a bit like cough medicine, very off putting! Its a thin consistancy almost oily feel to it and because of this it doesn't last 2 minutes on the lips..! an then makes them feel even more dry than usual. This is meant to be specifically for very dry chapped lips but this is by far the worst lip product i have ever used.. 1/10

Kerrie xx

mmmmm shoes...

Just wanted to show you my new 'nude' shoes... I lovvvvee them!! These pics don't do them justice!! lol! I wore them last saturday night, but while i love them..i can't say they were the most comfortable..! In fact far from it, they ended up cutting the hell out of me.. :(( my own fault thou cos we did walk a fair bit so i wasnt prepared for that..these shoes aren't made for walking..but they are pretty! in future it will be taxi, pub taxi home..& note to self ....Always......carry a pair of flats...lol..x
